Build a charming resort village on a favorite Hatteras Island location, and they will come. The Cottages at the Cape are the closest rental units to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton. They share a long border with the national park and are literally steps from the beachfront. Bring the bicycles, because Buxton’s unique stores, eateries, and lighthouse are all very close. Forget the 4WD car - those in the know have discovered that the three jetties to the east of the cottages produce some of the best fishing, surfing, and swimming on this island. Walking to the south will take you to open beaches, the famed Cape Point, and if luck is on your side during the summer, a few sea turtle nests (be careful to stay outside the barriers). The interior has been professionally-decorated with comfortable and fun beach décor. You'll have access to an outside shower and a patio. An escape to the cape never looked so good as at Cottages at the Cape.

THINGS TO KNOW
Guests will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your e-mail. You will not be able to check-in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.
The shared pool is typically open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, weather permitting. It is subject to close without notice.
Please note: Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in e-mail and during the check-in process. The club is typically open mid-May to mid-October, depending on weather.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to family pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Located in Buxton, this vacation home is in a rural area and near the beach. Outer Banks Beaches and Buxton Woods Coastal Preserve reflect the area's natural beauty and area attractions include Uncle Eddy's Frozen Custard and 18-Hole Mini Golf and Buxton Seafood. Frisco Mini Golf and Go Karts and Surf's Up are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Buxton. To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Hatteras restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
