The home’s rich history as an homage to a world-acclaimed fishing tackle magnate and entrepreneur is evident in the casual coastal bungalow décor that charms its guests both inside and out. The moment you drive down the rope-lined driveway, park your car securely under the home with a convenient EV charging station, and transport your bags and groceries upstairs with the convenience of an elevator, you’ll discover how painless it is to feel adrift at sea without a care in the world.

From the ground level on up, PFLUEGER’S LURE has anticipated your every need to make your stay unfettered and memorable. On the ground level, there is room to park two cars, storage for fishing gear, a fish cleaning station with lights and water, an outdoor enclosed shower and changing area, as well as a foot shower to wash off sandy shoes, toys, and beach chairs. You won’t have to carry those towels much further … a full-size washer/dryer is located a few steps up on the first level.

All of the home’s bedrooms feature brand new beds and flat screen Roku HDTVs. Four of those bedrooms are located on the second level. There are three king master bedrooms, all with private bathrooms. The fourth bedroom on this level has two bunkbeds and includes a private full-size bathroom with a combination tub/shower. The three king bedrooms have direct access to the deck surrounding an elevated heated pool, seven-person hot tub, and a stairway down to ground level. The pool directly overlooks the beach, accepting you to trade a chaise for a beach blanket and still have the glorious surf just steps away. A fifth bedroom, an ocean-facing queen with direct deck access, is located on the third level and the final bedroom, a king featuring an ensuite bathroom and a private sound-facing deck, can be found up a flight of steps to a loft.

As you emerge from the elevator on the third level, find yourself transported to an open and airy space that brings everybody together for those magical vacation moments. The shiplap cathedral ceiling adds rustic appeal to the surroundings while modern furnishings ensure relaxation is always an inviting option. The kitchen has everything you need to fix your favorite foods and mix up your ice-cold beverages, thanks to a blender, drink refrigerator and ice machine. The breakfast crowd will adore sipping coffee at the eat-at counter or outside on the deck just off the kitchen where there is also a gas grille. For those made-for-vacation dinners, the 10-seat dining table accommodates those who appreciate to linger over memorable meals made special by the stories you share with each other. The great room features a 65-inch flat screen Roku HDTV, along with a library of games, puzzles, and books. Step out onto the deck, settle into one of the new Adirondack chairs and imprint the expansive view to memory. The best catch is the one that doesn’t get away. Dogs are welcome for a fee of $200/dog/week.
If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the $200 weekly fee will apply for each dog and will be added once your reservation is finalized.

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Hatteras area. To get the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses.
