Fly high with handsome TERN INN! This marvelous vacation home is located on a peaceful oceanside street that has a superb beach front access and is only a few mins. walk from the Avon Pier and the pool at Club Hatteras. The ground level has plenty of concrete parking, carport, locking storage, 2 outside showers, and fish prep area. The 1st entry level has a half bath and laundry nook. The living level has cathedral ceilings, warm wood accents, and quality furnishings to make all guests feel right at home. The living area flows into the dining area and out to the screened porch and sundeck. The kitchen with breakfast bar is a great place to gather for a libation or tall tale before the serious eating begins. A good bedroom and full bath complete the picture. Upstairs two bedrooms and a bath have access to the fabulous airy loft. A hint: Break out the tanning oil for the 2nd story sundeck .... it's for the sun birds.

You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your e-mail. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically.

You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.

  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
