Our top Rental home booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your rental home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Hatteras area visitor guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the best rental in Frisco:
- Start by having your group decide on date ranges and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Waterfront House w\/ Sound View, Free WiFi, Private Washer\/Dryer, Shared Pool has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hatteras rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
