Our top Frisco vacation rental tips:
Get the best rental home value:
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Hatteras restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Hatteras visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectvacation home:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanside, Steps to the Beach, Hot Tub, Pet Friendly, Ocean and Sound Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
