Build a gorgeous resort village on a favorite Hatteras Island location, and they will come. The Cottages at the Cape are the closest rental units to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton. They share a long border with the national park and are literally steps from the beachfront. Bring the bicycles, because Buxton’s unique stores, eateries, and lighthouse are all very close. Forget the 4WD car - those in the know have discovered that the three jetties to the east of the cottages produce some of the best fishing, surfing, and swimming on this island. Walking to the south will take you to open beaches, the famed Cape Point, and if luck is on your side during the summer, a few sea turtle nests (be careful to stay outside the barriers). This is an alluring two-bedroom condo with one-and-a-half baths. The interior has been professionally-decorated with comfortable and fun beach décor. You'll have access to an outside shower and a patio, and there are plenty of appliances, counter space, and cabinet storage in the full kitchen. The screened-in porch is ideal for entertaining guests and appreciating your first cup of coffee in the morning. The living room is a great place to appreciate a movie nighttime with friends and family after a fun day on the beach. An escape to the cape never looked so good as at Cottages at the Cape.

THINGS TO KNOW

Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details about this facility will be shared in your check-in e-mail and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on the weather.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already supplied in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to family pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. Located in Buxton, this vacation home is in a rural area and near the beach. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Buxton Woods Coastal Preserve, while Studio 12 and Kinnakeet Clay Works are cultural highlights. Uncle Eddy's Frozen Custard and 18-Hole Mini Golf and Buxton Seafood are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.

  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review.
