Tips to get the optimal Hatteras vacation rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Hatteras area. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hatteras area visitors guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental in Rodanthe:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Rodanthe By The Sea \/ Lux. Ocean Front Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Tips for your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
