And lets not forget about my favorite movie 'Nights in Rodanthe' that was shot in Rodanthe starring Diane Lane and Richard Gere.
Wild Horses of the Outer Banks tours is a favorite!

How to book the best Hatteras vacation home experience:
When to reserve a Hatteras rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are high season in Rodanthe. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Hatteras attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Hatteras area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfect Hatteras vacation home:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Rodanthe By The Sea \/ Lux. Ocean Front Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
