Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Reserve your Hatteras rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Hatteras area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Hatteras area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Finding the perfect vacation home in Frisco:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Waterfront home w\/ private dock, hot tub, charcoal grill, A\/C, multiple decks has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hatteras rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips to have a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. text the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
