The delightful dining area offers sunset dinners, and the sizable, tiled kitchen is a chef's dream with breakfast bar with second sink, ice machine, and 2 dishwashers. Take a leisurely walk down to the waterfront on the close by community boardwalk and watch the blue herons and egrets gather along the shoreline, or simply enjoy sunset paddling around the Pamlico. About the Area

Located on the beach, this vacation home is in Wind Over Waves, a neighborhood in Salvo. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Cape Hatteras National Seashore and Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, while Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Historic Site and Museum and Studio 12 are cultural highlights. Rodanthe Pier and Ocean Air Sports are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Hatteras attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
• The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
• Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
