Native Sun has charming vistas of both the ocean and Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. With 4,000 square feet, Native Sun is located along Buxtons' beach and very close to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. The ground level has beach access, a private pool, a hot tub, showers, and a fish-cleaning table.

There are six primary bedrooms with private bathrooms, including one with a roll-in shower/sink; four have deck access. One guest bedroom has access to a semi-private hall bath.

A media room/den opens to decking. Topside Native Sun opens to a cathedral ceiling and includes a game table and a professionally decorated living area with a fireplace and an entertainment center. An marvelous kitchen with a wet bar, double fridges, dishwashers, and close by ocean vistas, and a dining area should satisfy the most demanding chefs.

Other perks include a washer/dryer, elevator, a recreation room with a refrigerator, a wet bar, a pool table, and a media area.

Tips and Tricks for getting the best Hatteras vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • In the Hatteras area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Buxton. Book your Hatteras vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Hatteras visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.

  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the rental.   • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs applied to your invoice.

  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
