Located on the beach, this vacation home is in Ocean Isle Estates, a neighborhood in Avon. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Cape Hatteras National Seashore. How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Hatteras area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.

  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
