SOUNDFRONT Rodanthe — NC Hwy. 12 — Gather your quiver, wax your board, and bring multigenerational families and friends together for a surf session at SOUND SESSION. There’s room for everybody to come together and prepare for a day on the water in this brand new 10-bedroom/10-full and two-half-bath home that offers marvelous sound vistas and painless access to one of the best kiteboarding locations in the country.

With the sound at your doorstep and the beach not far away, it’s simple to be drawn from this home for hours at a time. Guests have access to the common areas along the Pamlico Sound, the ideal space for launching kites, kayaks, and paddleboards. A covered gazebo over the water provides a front-row seat to the action. But here’s why you’ll want to devote plenty of time to stick around, too. A huge private pool will keep the kids happy for hours. There’s a 6-person hot tub for calming respite and two outdoor showers to clean up after a sandy and salty day. And that’s just outside. Inside on the ground level is a game room featuring a kitchenette, pool table, arcade games, and a Intelligent TV. When the competitive spirit gives way to a more languid pace, a media room offers a huge Intelligent TV with surround sound and a Blu-ray® player to sit back in the cool, darkened space and savor a favorite movie. Don’t be surprised if your dog, a welcome guest, curls up beside you.

The home is equipped with an elevator providing accessibility to all of the floors, especially the home’s 10 master bedrooms. Two king bedrooms and one with two bunkbeds are located on the first floor. Five more king bedrooms, including three sound-facing and one handicap friendly, are located on the second level. The final two king bedrooms are located on the third level. All of the bedrooms offer ensuite baths and Intelligent TVs.

The top level is a lofty space with floor-to-ceiling windows where sound to ocean vistas are all the inspiration you need to seize the day. The sizable open chef’s kitchen will excite sandwich makers and gourmet cooks alike and the eight-seat counter accepts conversational sous-chefs to stay in on the action. Tap into the stand-alone ice maker to freshen your drinks before gathering your group for memorable meals around the sizable dining table. This level also features a lofted reading nook area that provides the ideal place to curl up with a beach read while taking in the amazing vistas. Wind down the evening in the adjoining great room, a luxuriously comfortable space with a water vapor fireplace and enormous Intelligent TV, or getaway to the large outdoor deck where vistas of the sound will set the backdrop to memorable vacation memories being made.

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Rodanthe. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.

  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
