Tortuga is the ideal home in many ways. It has an exceptional view of both the ocean and the sound. The home is high and the breeze is magnificent. We like to prepare and it's well supplied for cooking . It's a great home for families or couples because each bedroom, excluding the bunkroom, has a private bathroom within the bedroom. Tortuga's décor is a tribal boho beach theme. There is always something interesting to look at. It's ideal for a great cup of coffee on a rainy day or a great glass of wine. The furnishings are handsome but comfortable including the beds. We adore repeat guests.

Tips to get the very best vacation property experience:
When to visit Rodanthe & When to book:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Hatteras restaurants and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick your prefectvacation home:
- Start by having your family decide on a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Tortuga 4 Masters, Hot Tub, Pool, Game Room has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
