Tortuga is the ideal home in many ways. It has an fantastic view of both the ocean and the sound. The home is high and the breeze is phenomenal. We like to prepare and it's well supplied for cooking . It's a great home for families or couples because each bedroom, excluding the bunkroom, has a private bathroom within the bedroom. Tortuga's décor is a tribal boho beach theme. There is always something interesting to look at. It's ideal for a great cup of coffee on a rainy day or a great glass of wine. The furnishings are pretty but comfortable including the beds. We adore repeat guests.

Vacation rental tips:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Summertime is high season in Rodanthe. Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hatteras area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose the bestrental home:
- To start, have your group select a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Tortuga 4 Masters, Hot Tub, Pool, Game Room has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hatteras rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
