How to find the best Buxton rental experience:
When to book a Hatteras rental & When to go:
- Summer months are high season in Buxton. To find the largest vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Hatteras area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book yourrental home:
- Select your vacation week and budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Starlights 1, OCEANFRONT, Extraordinary View! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.

- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.

More considerations for your visit:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!

- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
