Book a slip at the Hatteras Estates community marina for up to a 32-foot boat and launch a day on the water. Freshening up for the rest of your day's adventures is made painless by the convenient outdoor shower.

That might include cooking that fresh catch in the very cavernous kitchen that has everything you need, including a six-burner gas stove with double ovens, to make everything from finger food to a feast. There’s a charcoal grille when the mood for BBQ strikes. Appreciate the cooling breeze of a ceiling fan as you settle into the leather couch and chairs to watch the Intelligent TV as you are surrounded by the impressive coastal ambiance of the home. About the Area

Located in Hatteras, this vacation home is near the beach. Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum and Frisco Native American Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Village Marina and Hatteras Harbor Marina. Frisco Mini Golf and Go Karts and Buxton Seafood are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Money saving strategies:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Hatteras area. To find the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Hatteras visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property.
