Sticking to your spending budget:

• Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
• Some owners offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
• Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses.
