Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.

- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.

- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it.
