OCEANVIEW Rodanthe - South Shore Dr. - Take a break from your busy life and relax at SURF’S UP RODANTHE. Float around the private pool or sit back on the pool area seating. Watch the pool from the screened porch or appreciate the air conditioning inside with a game of pool or foosball in the game room. You can make a fast snack at the wet bar while you watch the games. Go up stairs to take a dip in the hot tub or stay inside in one of the four bedrooms on this level. Continue to the top level with the final master queen bedroom. Sit in the dining area and savor a beach meal or go outside on the deck to take a peek at the ocean. End the day cozied-up with a book in the great room with the TV on after coming back inside from watching the sunsets on the top of the world ships watch with sound to ocean vistas. SURF’S UP RODANTHE is sure to be the star of your vacation.

Vacation Rental Protection Plan: This required non-returnable $95 plan covers accidental damage within the home with a coverage limit of $3,000. It does not cover theft or willful misconduct. You must notify Surf or Sound Realty of any damage that occurs during your occupancy or this coverage will be void. Coverage is effective at time of check-in and ends at time of check-out.

When to book a Hatteras rental & When to go:

  • In the Hatteras area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Hatteras area. To get the best value, try changing your family's Hatteras vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.

Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.

  • Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review.
