Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Hatteras area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- To get the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Hatteras area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and picking a perfect Hatteras rental:
- To start, have your family select the best dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. White Dune- Ocean side cottage, 90 second walk to the beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
