Eight master bedrooms, with an additional two half-baths, and eight parking spaces can only mean one thing: this is the ideal home for your huge extended family or best friend group to take equal delight in spaces where they can gather as one or seek out indulgent solitude.

The fun begins with a splash in the gorgeous and secluded 11x24-ft. heated swimming pool, separate kiddie pool, and six-person hot tub, or watch the action from the adjacent game room, including a sports bar, kitchenette, billiards, game table, and a sizable flat screen TV. Fix yourself a snack or drink and head to the giant theater room to catch up on must-see movies in the home theater, where a 92-in. projection system and plush stadium-style seating provide a state-of-the-art entertainment experience. Two king ensuite bedrooms, both with covered deck access, and one ensuite bedroom with two pyramid bunk beds, complete the level.

Take the elevator up to the next level to discover the home’s heartbeat — a spectacular great room, featuring a two-story curved wall of windows that help you mark time by the ocean’s changing tides or the covered deck with vistas that awaken all your senses. Cook up a masterpiece in the chef’s kitchen with two fridges, two dishwashers, two ovens, gas range, and wine/beverage cooler. The 24-seat dining space can accommodate your entire household for group feasts. When its time to rest you’ll find an oceanfront king ensuite bedroom, and a sound side king ensuite, both with covered deck access. To complete the level there is a sound side ensuite bedroom with two pyramid bunk beds with a covered deck.

Another ride on the elevator brings you to the top level where there are five more bedrooms: two oceanfront king ensuite bedrooms (one with a Jacuzzi tub), two sound side king ensuites, all with covered decks. For the kids there is one ensuite bedroom with two pyramid bunk beds. There are also sitting areas with a TV and three game tables--ideal for catching some peaceful time with a good book or engaging in some table games.

While it may seem unthinkable to leave this calming realm of lavish comfort, descend the elevator to the ground level for the covered lounge area with a massive constructed in picnic table, gas grille, sand boxes for the kids, 6-person hot tub, two outdoor showers, a fish cleaning station, and a wide, uncrowded beach just a few steps away.

Vacation Rental Protection Plan: This required non-returnable $95 plan covers accidental damage within the home with a coverage limit of $3,000. It does not cover theft or willful misconduct. Located in Salvo, this vacation home is on the beach. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Get the most from your rental budget:

  • The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses.   • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback.
