An simple walk from the Buxton Highway 12 stores and eateries, this top-floor, Cottage Avenue Duplex home has a shared pool, two bedrooms, and is super-close to the beach and ocean. You'll savor the semi-oceanfront location, the central AC, the full kitchen, the bedrooms, and the bath when you want to come to the beach to appreciate all that it has to offer. Need a little additional space for your friends or extended family? You can rent Cape Bottom which occupies the same building as a separate unit with its own entrance. Don't forget: this home welcomes up to four dogs, so every family member can come along! Whether you're here for three nights or three weeks, you'll enjoy the beach life with Cape Top.

Things to know:
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your e-mail. You will not be able to check-in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.

Please note: Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in e-mail and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on the weather.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already supplied in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to family pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

About the Area

Located in Buxton, this vacation home is near the beach. Studio 12 and Kinnakeet Clay Works are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Uncle Eddy's Frozen Custard and 18-Hole Mini Golf and Buxton Seafood. Frisco Mini Golf and Go Karts and Surf's Up are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.

Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Hatteras area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local tours and attractions.

  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
