How to find the best Avon vacation property experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer time is high season in Avon. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Hatteras visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
How to choose and book your prefectrental:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Lee's Landing
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
