You will definitely forget what day it is when you stay at Island Time Buxton! This four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath bungalow gives true meaning to a 'vacation on the beach.' Just one row back from the ocean, someone with a good arm could throw a stone into the sea from either sundeck, and with 2,500 sq. feet of living space, there is plenty of room for the entire family to appreciate the extraordinary vistas all day and nighttime.
Located on gorgeous Tower Circle Road in Buxton, there's no need to haul gear back and forth from the car to savor your day at the beach; all you need to do is walk out your front door and walk across the street to enjoy the surf and sun. Dual outdoor showers and an outdoor restroom provide the beach lover with the ultimate convenience. Ready for lunch? Use the fish cleaning table for filleting your fresh catch and throw it on the charcoal grille to prepare them up along with some hot dogs and burgers - a ideal beach picnic!
As you enter the home on the bottom level, you are welcomed by a comfortable den and game room. A cozy couch, huge flatscreen intelligent TV, games, puzzles, and an air hockey table are included to help occupy the kids when they need a break from the sand and sunshine. Meanwhile, you can find a ideal book from our library for those afternoons calming on one of the two sundecks. Laundry? No worries! You won't need to bring those dirty towels home, the washer and dryer are there for your convenience.
Moving upstairs to the second level, you will find all four bedrooms. The first bedroom has two sets of bunk beds and a enormous flatscreen intelligent TV ideal for gaming. The second bedroom has a queen bed, intelligent TV, and direct access to the hot tub through the French doors. These two bedrooms share a nice sized full bathroom which is off the hallway. Bedrooms three and four are both main suites with queen beds, full bathrooms, flatscreen intelligent TVs, and direct access to the first level deck and its accompanying hot tub. From both rooms you can lie in bed and watch the rolling waves of the Atlantic crash on to the shore.
Walk upstairs to the roomy main living area, where you will find the dining area, family room, kitchen and half bath. Lit by natural light and highlighted with spectacular vistas of the ocean from every seat, the open floorplan brings the family together with a sizable sectional couch centered around a coffee table, a huge flatscreen TV, Blu-ray player, stereo, and surround sound. The dining area provides plenty of seating with a pub table for four and a 10-person dining table. The kitchen comes completely equipped with everything you will need to prepare for the whole gang and a large island that doubles as a four-person breakfast bar for seating.
The second level deck is accessible from the dining area and is ideal for kicking back and soaking up the rays, reading a book in the shade while appreciating a cool breeze, taking in the sights, such as the famed Cape Hatteras Light House, and for dining alfresco on the screened in deck complete with picnic table. The best of all worlds is on one deck!

Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Hatteras trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hatteras area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- To start, have your group choose dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. ISLAND TIME Semi-oceanfront, 4BR 3.5BA Home with hot tub has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
