Tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:
When to reserve a Hatteras rental & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hatteras area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the best vacation home in Frisco:
- To start, have your group decide on the best dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Dog-friendly House w\/Water View, Free WiFi, AC, Private Hot Tub has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
