Getting the best rental value:

  • To book the best rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Hatteras restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection.   • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise.
