About this Property

Welcome to our new listing for 2021! Located on the west and east sides of a well-maintained condominium, our rental offers spectacular vistas of the canal and landscaped backyard. We take very good care of the property, seeking to give our guests the best of both a home and a hotel. Either on the unit’s east or west decks, the pristine beaches, or by the pool, there is plenty of space to appreciate the sun in an area surrounded by nature.

Irida III is based on a theme. In recognition of the very long and storied history of indigenous culture on the Outer Banks, we created three rooms of photography – in effect three galleries – that tell a story of nature as presented to its denizens. As people have known for many centuries, part of the magic of the Outer Banks is its profound and diverse ecology that is both healing and inspiring. It is our enjoyment to attempt to share a modern interpretation of what various cultures have experienced for comfortably a millennium.

Grocery shopping and many eateries are all within a five-min. drive, and Ocean Air Sports – a leading watersports center on the outer banks – is next door. This area is one of the most trendy kiteboarding and windsurfing locations on the entire east coast, and it is equally known for its fishing. A gorgeous canal gives access to Pamlico Sound, or public access to the ocean beach is only a ten-min. walk away. Given the Outer Banks, concentration of federal and state protected lands, there is ample opportunity for nature-based recreation, and its history is legendary.

Our unit is one level and is located on the top floor, offering some spectacular vistas of the area. The unit has a full kitchen, and two full bathrooms. Cable T.V. and internet are supplied, as well as access to the pool. A ground level storage unit is supplied, and is suitable for storing windsurfing, surfing, paddle boards, kiteboarding equipment. The unit can hold two bicycles.

We provide all linens, towels, and products needed for your vacation, and are honored to bring our guests as healthy a vacation experience as possible.

Tips for getting the best vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • To get the best value, try shifting your family's Hatteras trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Hatteras area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your search:

  • Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Croatoan's Lookout has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is best for your trip.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
