There is one full bath with a bathtub shower combo and a half bathroom. The living area provides access to the east facing deck with village vistas. Rodanthe Pier does not have the direct waterfront vistas of our waterfront suites but does offer enough water vistas to soothe the soul and keep you in touch with the conditions to hit the water when it's peaking.
Guests of Watermen's Retreat get kite launching and landing access at REAL Watersports and 10% off at the REAL Watersports Rental Shop.
Additional amenities include Wi-Fi internet access, Tesla & EV charging station, an in-suite washer and dryer, base level secure gear storage, covered parking, an elevator and fast access to REAL Watersports and Watermen's Bar & Grille. All Watermen's Retreat properties include bed linens, made beds upon arrival, bathroom towels, drip style coffee maker, coffee filters, salt & pepper, dishwasher soap tabs, dish soap, sponge and kitchen towels.
Our two-bedroom water view and garden view suites are named after three piers that extend into the Atlantic Ocean and produce some of the best surfing and fishing along the Outer Banks: Rodanthe Pier, Frisco Pier and Avon Pier.

Booking the best Hatteras vacation home experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the largest rental within your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Hatteras visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and pick a perfectrental home:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. 2-Bedroom, 1.5-Bathroom Suite at REAL Watersports has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a specific Hatteras beach you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Know before you go:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
