Leave plenty of time to do nothing at all. Sit on the private deck and look out over Pamlico Sound where you'll watch windsurfers and kiteboarders sail across the water. Out on our deck towards evening time, watch the mackerel jump or drop a kayak in the water for a sunset paddle. Just relaxing is 'island time' well spent.
Outerbanks is known for some of the best windsurfing, kiteboarding and fishing on the whole East Coast and this can all be done from the backyard of this bungalow.
Plenty of room for rigging your gear, enclosed outdoor shower and BBQ grille are all here in our backyard.
Just north 10 mins. on NC12 is Canadian Hole also known as Kitepoint, which is where wind surfers from Canada have flocked to since the 1980s. This sweet spot now attracts kiteboarders as well.
The warm, shallow water of the Pamlico Sound, combined with the steady warm Gulf Stream and Outer Banks winds create unparalleled conditions for wind surfing and kite boarding.
Just south 5 mins. are the beaches of Frisco. Free parking and don’t forget the cool beverages and sunscreen. Rest a beach chair at the edge of the surf and do nothing.

Fishing is fashionable along the entire stretch of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, as both ocean and sound fishing are available. Watch the local fishermen motor out the channel to the sound each day to bring in their catch.
Just across Hwy 12 is a fresh fish market and there are also plenty of fine eateries, coffee homes and bakeries in the area.
Other trendy activities include, crabbing, clamming, kayaking, boating, cycling, photography, snorkeling/scuba diving, swimming, sailing, hiking and bird watching. Nature trails are close by too some of which are in Buxton Woods.
The Cape Hatteras National Seashore is a birders heaven, with over 400 different species of birds sighted. Located along the Eastern Flyway, its varied habitats and strong winds and storms force the exhausted birds to rest. The greatest variety of species occurs during the spring and fall migration.

Tips for getting the perfect Frisco vacation property experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Hatteras area. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hatteras area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and picking your prefectvacation home:
- To start, have your group commit to date ranges and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Cozy Cottage Waterfront on Point. Great views, Kayak, Windsurf, Kiteboard, Fun! has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Know before you go:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
