Pompano Place is a freshly refreshed, dog-friendly vacation home in Avon Village. This bespoke-constructed home is located on a secluded soundside lot in Hatteras Colony near Mill's Creek and surrounded by mature vegetation for plenty of seclusion. After a day at the beach or out on the boat, come home and relax in the comfortably furnished great room with plenty of space and generous natural light. Vaulted ceilings with wood paneling and an exposed beam adds character and accentuates the height of the space. The chef in the family will look forward to cooking in the completely refreshed kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel Bosch appliances, including a gas range. Friends and family can gather during meal prep at the butcher block central island with bar seating. Also on the top floor you'll find a dedicated office for catching up with work or school remotely. The living area leads out to a covered deck where you can relax in the shade with a invigorating drink while admiring the spectacular sunsets.
Back inside, elegant LVP floor flows throughout the home, including the bedrooms. At the end of the nighttime, getaway to the mid-level primary suite and pamper yourself in the updated private bath. Two more bedrooms will comfortably accommodate your guests and share an equally impressive, refreshed Jack-and-Jill bath. Pompano Place welcomes dogs, so bring your fur babies along to play on the pet-friendly beaches of Hatteras Island.
Two close by beach accesses (Angelfish Road and Wahoo Court) are located across NC-12 and within walking distance from the home. Beach Access Ramp 34 is just a three-min. drive north and provides year-round pedestrian access to the beaches north of Avon. Seasonally (October 15 -April 14), this ramp also provides off-road car access. A three-min. drive south will take you to the heart of town, where you'll find the Avon Fishing Pier along with a variety of locally owned stores, surf stores, and dining options.
Can’t stay an entire week? Pompano Place is available for short stays with flexible arrival/departure options. For guests who like to plan ahead, partial week stays (three-nighttime minimum) can be reserved months in advance. Choose any day of the week for check-in and check-out.

Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Hatteras rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Hatteras area. Reserve your rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Hatteras area visitors guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best rental in the Hatteras area:
- Start by having your family commit to vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Pompano Place: Dog-Friendly
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is right for your group.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Advice for your stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
