Mariah calls Avon's windy sound-front home! The ground level has good parking, concrete carports, tons of grassy sail rigging area, and a great sound-front launch, while the all-weather entry includes some storage. The first level features a tiled entry, two southwest-facing bedrooms (one queen with a private bath, and one with two additional-long twin beds and a semi-private bath) with roomy sound-front decks. The third east (additional-long) bunk room has access to decks and a close by second bathroom.
Mariah's enormous upstairs great room with tall ceilings and a half-bath can carry the freight in pretty style. The comfortable living and dining areas have ideal southwest exposure and postcard vistas of the sound, sunsets, and the broad wetland marsh. The kitchen with an island bar includes all the necessary bells and whistles. A wide deck wraps from south to west into a humongous covered porch with a picnic table and an inviting hot tub. Tips to get the very best Hatteras vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summer months are high season in Avon. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Hatteras area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Waterfront, Dog-Friendly Home w\/ Private Hot Tub, Sound View, Shared Pool, WiFi has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before booking the property. - If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Hatteras attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.

- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
