Indoors, you can practice some bold plays in the ground floor game room with pool table, TV, and wet bar with refrigerator and microwave. For a peaceful afternoon, escape to the media room with 40" LCD TV with BluRay and surround sound to watch your favorite stars make bold moves or plug in your gaming system or laptop. Take a break in the sitting area with half bath, queen sleeper couch, desk and internet, ideal for doing a little indoor surfing online. The second level of the home features the laundry room and three well-appointed bedrooms, including a king master, a queen master, and a master bedroom with 2 singles, each with their own private bath. All bedrooms in the home have flat screen TVs and either BluRay player or DVD player. The top level has one more king master bedroom with spa bathtub. The open great room has flat screen TV and BluRay player, and dining area with sliders to the sun decks. Vacation Rental Protection Plan: This required non-returnable $95 plan covers accidental damage within the home with a coverage limit of $3,000. It does not cover theft or willful misconduct. You must notify Surf or Sound Realty of any damage that occurs during your occupancy or this coverage will be void. Coverage is effective at time of check-in and ends at time of check-out.

Located near the beach, this vacation home is in Palisade Acres, a neighborhood in Waves. Cape Hatteras National Seashore and Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge reflect the area's natural beauty and area attractions include Rodanthe Pier and Ocean Air Sports. Hatteras Island Boardsports and Avon Fishing Pier are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.

  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
