Welcome to the historic Outer Banks Motel's Village Accommodations! Every bungalow on this property was constructed on the owner's family property which is the fabric of Cape Hatteras. These cottages offer more space and privacy to appreciate your vacation at a lower price than that of our Oceanside Accommodations given that they are located a mile from the beach. They are constructed on high ground sheltered from the effects of the occasional storm that we're famed for. On clear nights, the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse light blankets the starry skies every seven seconds. All the amenities, such as the saltwater pool and hot tub on the Oceanside Accommodations are supplied.
This duplex known as the Maude-Estes House was newly rebuilt to be a better version of the historic home that stood in this footprint for nearly a century. Each half is a mirror floorplan of each other. Access the front entrance by climbing a few bespoke brick and stone steps between the rose bushes to the front porch, which features a rocking chair and a porch swing. Upon entering, off to the side, there's the living room with comfortable seating and a Intelligent T.V. Beyond the living room, enter the full kitchen through the bespoke arched hallway. Full stainless steel kitchen appliances with all the pots, pans, dishes and silverware supplied. Off the kitchen is a half-bath with a full-sized coin-operated washer and dryer for your convenience. Access to the back patio is off the kitchen, as well. Back to the front entrance, straight ahead through the door is the full staircase to the second floor. Second floor has a master suite with a full bathtub and shower with a Intelligent T.V., a second bedroom and another full bathroom, The third-floor staircase accesses the private loft bedroom with vistas of the Pamlico Sound through the windows. There's ample parking on the property. Animals are not allowed in the duplex.

Tips to get the best vacation property experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Hatteras area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

How to select the best vacation home:

  • First, have your family choose dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Village Accomodations - 2 Bedroom Duplex has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
