OCEANFRONT Avon- Askins Creek Dr. With abounding windows and sundecks, “REFLECTIONS” serves some of the island's most gorgeous ocean vistas, stretching all the way to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.

Once you've pulled into the driveway with ample parking, the kids can getaway to the first level game room with foosball table, 42" TV and day bed. The adults can lounge in the secluded, completely enclosed & screened in 8-person hot tub area with stereo system, and an adjacent room with half bath, wet bar & mini refrigerator to keep the drinks cold.

Upstairs, you'll be delighted to discover that all of the four bedrooms, including a queen master, have striking ocean vistas and deck access. The third level great room glitters with the reflection of the ocean through the windows, and the cavernous living area features comfortable couches and sizable TV.

Dine at the enormous table, then getaway to the sprawling sun deck for after dinner coffee. The separate kitchen is huge and entirely equipped with plenty of elbow room to prepare family seafood feasts. There is another level with a king master bedroom and private bath.

Once you take in a sunrise from any of REFLECTIONS’ ocean filled rooms, you'll be reflecting on how soon you can come back.

*Guests have access to Kinnakeet Shores Pool & Tennis courts. You will sign in with the attendant using the home name.

Vacation Rental Protection Plan: This required non-returnable $95 plan covers accidental damage within the home with a coverage limit of $3,000. It does not cover theft or willful misconduct. How to find the best rental experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Avon. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.

  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it.
