Hatteras rental property booking tips:

How to get the best rental value:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer time is high season in Rodanthe. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Hatteras visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have deals for local shops and restaurants.

Selecting and booking your prefect Hatteras vacation home:

  • Start by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Condo w\/ Private Deck, Resort Pool, Elevator, and Boardwalk to Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a particular Hatteras destination you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
