How to book the best vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summertime is high season in Frisco. Book your Hatteras rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Hatteras area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Hatteras visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Selecting the best rental in Frisco:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Frisco
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
