The private swimming pool is a great place to start your vacation, and the kids will adore the convenient full bath on the deck. When it is time to move inside, the first level offers a game room complete with air hockey and card table. The wet bar with refrigerator will help keep your energy up during those challenging games. The second level has three bedrooms; 1 queen master, and two others that share a bath (1 with a queen and 1 with two bunk beds), as well as a handy laundry room and common access to the additional enormous 10 ft deep deck and bubbly hot tub. The top level is a great spot for FAMILY TIME featuring the great room with huge flat panel Intelligent TV/Blu-ray and sliders to the additional sizable 10 ft deep sun deck.   • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended.   • Summertime is high season in the Hatteras area. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.

  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review.
