SOUNDFRONT Rodanthe — Cross of Honor Way — A private walkway leads you directly to the sound’s peaceful waters where you can launch kayaks to discover the natural habitat of Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge. A private saltwater pool offers a more languid alternative to connecting to the calming qualities of water, as does a 7-person hot tub located on an upper deck. The ground level also reveals two outdoor showers, a picnic table, two charcoal park grilles, a fish-cleaning table, and a basketball hoop. From the driveway and carport, enter the first level to discover a master king bedroom with ensuite bath, mini refrigerator, and a private covered deck with direct pool access. The remaining four bedrooms are located on the second level. Two sound facing king masters offer both ensuite bathrooms and access to the covered wrap around deck. On the other side of the hallway you'll find a pyramid bunk with trundle bedroom that shares a jack-and-jill bathroom with a king bedroom featuring deck access. All the bedrooms feature Intelligent TVs. A laundry room is also located on this level.
The vaulted top-level great room invites you to take in the glorious sound vistas from floor-to-ceiling windows as your family gathers around a 10-seat dining table as you whip up your favorite foods in a roomy, completely supplied kitchen featuring a breakfast counter with four stools. Start your day here with a newly brewed cup of coffee or better yet, take your morning joe to the screened-in porch with seating for six as a breeze drifts in across the sound. Later, gather your crew in the great room where fresh and comfortable seating is ideal for appreciating some TV time on the Intelligent TV, listening to your favorite tunes through the surround sound system, or taking advantage of a variety of books and games. And just when you thought a home couldn’t be more ideal, a ship’s watch loft reveals a game room with a foosball table, Intelligent TV, wet bar, queen couch bed, and a sun deck that turns brilliant nightly sunsets into a must-not-miss evening ritual.

Tips to get the best Hatteras vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Hatteras area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Soundfront - 5-Bedroom - Pool, Hot Tub, Water Views & Community Beach Access has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If not, email the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is best for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
