Load the hideaway car and make haste to secluded Sound Escape. Located on a prime soundfront lot in Salvo, with a shared boardwalk leading directly to the sound and three levels of furnished decks overlooking the Pamlico Sound, this home is a picture of vacation greatness! There is something here for everybody. Savor fising the grass beds and the duck blinds for redfish, flounder and most of all the speckled trout. Home is equipped with a fish cleaning station to accommodate your catch. There is a a short 6-8 min. walk beach and across the dunes to savor the calming oceanside sun. Finish the day with a dip in the hot tub with ideal sunset vistas. There is a day park within walking distance that is great place to spectate kite surfers. Our pier is a fashionable location where the kite surfers like to come by very close which makes for great photos. The pier is part of our property but is shared by the adjoining neighbors and their guests. The first floor welcomes you with three bedrooms. Bedroom one has a queen and deck access. Bedroom two has a queen bed and shared access to the main bathroom with hottub jets and a shower. Bedroom 3 is a master with a queen bed and a private bath and direct access the deck and hot tub. A well-placed laundry room with washing machine and dryer completes this floor. All beds were replaced 12/2020. The second floor is very inviting with an open great room, beam ceilings and ample natural light flowing through the many windows. Water vistas at every turn! The living room has a vaulted ceiling, a game table, and comfortable furnishings positioned to optimize the vistas through the sliding glass doors that lead to the deck. The kitchen is open and well-equipped for creating your favorite cuisine. The dining area has a table with seating for eight and is ready for lively dinner conversation as you gather and recount the day's adventures, or if you'd prefer, serve your meals on the deck and dine in the open-air overlooking the water. Make your way up the spiral staircase to the loft where you will find a pyramid bed in loft with TV, VCR, and private deck with unsurpassed vistas. The pyramid bed has a twin at the top and a full on the bottom. From the top deck, you can see both the ocean and the sound. You can see the sunrise coming up over the Atlantic and the sunset over the sound. We have freshly added 2 kayaks as well as life jackets and paddles and 5 Beach Cruiser bicycles for peddling around. We provide 5 beach chairs, cornhole and horse shoes. Make a break for Sound Escape! Note: All 5 TV's in the home have connected Rokus for video streaming choices and we are a Spectrum customer with cable as well as high speed internet. Half bath #2 has an outside entry adjacent to the outside hot/cold shower for rinsing off after a day of water and sunshine fun!

Located on the waterfront, this vacation home is in Spindrift Banks, a neighborhood in Salvo. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Finding the best rental home value:

  • To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Hatteras area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection.   • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words.
