Venture down the secluded sound boardwalk, (privately shared with one other home), while making a stop for a splash in the private pool or taking a calming soak in the six-person hot tub. If you are more of a gamer, challenge your family to a round of corn hole or horseshoes before heading inside from the dry entry or up the wheelchair ramp into the sizable game room with pool table, wet bar, and big screen TV. A comfortable chair that converts to a single-sized sleeper accepts for additional relaxation. A queen bedroom and full bath complete this level. Take the elevator to the second level featuring four master suites, two with queen beds, one with a king bed, and one with a queen and a set of bunk beds. Up one more level is a king master suite with a huge private bath complete with dual vanities. Walk into the great room and be welcomed by wall-to-wall windows with awe-inspiring sound vistas, vaulted ceilings, and a constructed-in entertainment center with enormous screen TV. The dining room table seats 10, and the kitchen with breakfast bar was thoughtfully designed with the chef in mind. Located on the waterfront, this vacation home is in Wind Over Waves, a neighborhood in Salvo. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Rodanthe Pier and Ocean Air Sports are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

When to go & When to book:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Salvo. To find the best value, try changing your family's Hatteras vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses.
