SEMI-OCEANFRONT Rodanthe - Ocean Drive - You will adore the vistas from this enchanting home, located just one lot back from the beach. Beach access is fast and simple, and calming on the decks is divine. Take a short walk to the Rodanthe Fishing Pier to either fish or sightsee. Five bedrooms in the home suit your group. The lower-level bedroom has three single beds and uses a common bath. On the mid-level, choose from two queen bedrooms that share a hall bath or one king bedroom. The top-level master bedroom has a queen bed and private master bath. All bedrooms in the home have their own TV with streaming capabilities, one queen bedroom has elegant ocean vistas while the other two queen bedrooms have great vistas of the sound. There are multiple areas to gather with your group, including a game room with a game table featuring 60 games, couch, chair, and huge flat screen TV with cable and streaming capabilities. The great room on the top level features a home theater system with surround sound and DVD player for viewing the latest episode of your favorite show, catch the latest blockbuster, watch cable TV, or use the streaming capabilities. Cook up tasty meals in the kitchen and dine at the dining table or in the adjacent sunroom with outdoor dining set. After your meal, change to the game table and watch the sun disappear from the sky over games. Finding your best deal:

Reserve your rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.

Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
