SEMI-SOUNDFRONT Salvo - Sand Dollar Ct. - The gorgeous SLAINTE (pronounced slawn-cha), which is a Gaelic word for Cheers or Good Health, has rather a few attractions to offer. Outdoor enticements include a private pool, cabana half bath next to the outdoor shower, hot tub and basketball goal. The sound vistas from this home are spectacular, and SLAINTE is all decked out with opportunities for taking advantage of the scenery! The ground level has a queen master bedroom, a bedroom with two pyramid bunk beds, a full bath, and a game room with wet bar and pool table. The mid-level features four queen master bedrooms with vistas from the wraparound decks. The top floor is the main gathering place, where you'll find ample dining space, a enormous kitchen and a great room with handsome vistas. A roomy king master bedroom with double vanity and deck access completes this level. (Fireplace seen in photos is not available for guest use.)

About the Area

Located near the beach, this vacation home is in Wind Over Waves, a neighborhood in Salvo. Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Historic Site and Museum and Studio 12 are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Rodanthe Pier and Ocean Air Sports. Hatteras Island Boardsports and Avon Fishing Pier are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

How to get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, shift your family's Hatteras vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses.   • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review.
