SEMI-SOUNDFRONT Salvo - Sand Dollar Ct. - The pretty SLAINTE (pronounced slawn-cha), which is a Gaelic word for Cheers or Good Health, has rather a few attractions to offer. Outdoor enticements include a private pool, cabana half bath next to the outdoor shower, hot tub and basketball goal. The sound vistas from this home are spectacular, and SLAINTE is all decked out with opportunities for taking advantage of the scenery! The ground level has a queen master bedroom, a bedroom with two pyramid bunk beds, a full bath, and a game room with wet bar and pool table. The mid-level features four queen master bedrooms with vistas from the wraparound decks. The top floor is the main gathering place, where you'll find ample dining space, a enormous kitchen and a great room with splendid vistas. A cavernous king master bedroom with double vanity and deck access completes this level. (Fireplace seen in photos is not available for guest use.)

Located on the beach, this vacation home is in Wind Over Waves, a neighborhood in Salvo. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Cape Hatteras National Seashore. How to get the best value:

• Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
• June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
• Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
• Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.

• Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.

Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review.
