SEMI-SOUNDFRONT Salvo - Sand Dollar Ct. - The pretty SLAINTE (pronounced slawn-cha), which is a Gaelic word for Cheers or Good Health, has rather a few attractions to offer. Outdoor enticements include a private pool, cabana half bath next to the outdoor shower, hot tub and basketball goal. The sound vistas from this home are spectacular, and SLAINTE is all decked out with opportunities for taking advantage of the scenery! The ground level has a queen master bedroom, a bedroom with two pyramid bunk beds, a full bath, and a game room with wet bar and pool table. The mid-level features four queen master bedrooms with vistas from the wraparound decks. The top floor is the main gathering place, where you'll find ample dining space, a enormous kitchen and a great room with splendid vistas. A cavernous king master bedroom with double vanity and deck access completes this level. (Fireplace seen in photos is not available for guest use.)

Located on the beach, this vacation home is in Wind Over Waves, a neighborhood in Salvo. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Cape Hatteras National Seashore. How to get the best value:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's an individual Hatteras attraction you love, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
