Water enthusiasts will appreciate 'Aquaholic', a striking 7 master bedroom home overlooking the Pamlico Sound with all the amenities. Savor gorgeous sunsets and front-row vistas of the kite boarders, wind surfers and sailboats that dot the sound, or just experience the starry nighttime sky and the calm of the salt marshes.

With new "Flex Check-in", avoid the weekend traffic jams. Start your vacation any day of the week and stay as long as you'd like -- no need for week-long bookings with a fixed check-in day.

The beach is less than a quarter mile away, visible from our balconies and a short distance away (walk, bicycle ride, pack your car with chairs and a cooler and park at one of the many parking spots). Four-wheel drive cars can also drive and park on the national park beaches close by.

You'll be greeted by an old live oak tree encircled in a bench with pretty landscaping, a park grille and gas grille, ample parking plus a basketball hoop for outdoor play. The swimming pool has a pool bar and poolside basketball.

Decorated in 'beach glass' colors, Aquaholic is wheelchair accessible and includes an elevator. The lowest level features a game room with a pool table, regulation championship foosball table, and card table and T.V.. The bar area has an ice maker, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. Appreciate movies, TV, or gaming in the private theater with a humongous projection screen and reclining theater chairs. This floor has one bedroom with queen bunk beds and private bath, plus one bedroom with two sets of twin bunk beds and private bath. Two sets of washer/dryers complete this family-friendly space.

The top floor has a wide-open floor plan, vaulted ceilings and vistas of both the sound and the ocean, with front and rear decks and a wood floor. Plenty of comfortable seating accommodate your sizable group, with two dining tables. The gourmet kitchen features two fridges, two dishwashers, a six-burner gas range, separate ice maker and walk-in pantry. The living room features sweeping vistas of the sound and a stereo with exterior speakers provide a soundtrack for the sunset. The top floor also features a cavernous deluxe king master suite that opens onto the huge sound front deck, with a TV, whirlpool tub and double shower.

The middle floor has another sound front deluxe master bedroom suite with a TV, whirlpool tub and double shower, two additional king suites with bathrooms and T.V.s, plus a wheelchair accessible suite with a queen-sized bed. Unwind or play games in the library that opens onto spectacular vistas of the sound.

Enjoy the beauty of the sound or play on the wide, sandy beaches. Convenient access to world-class windsurfing and kiteboarding, fishing, surfing, state parks, pirate lore, historic sites. The ideal combination of nature and vacation, beach and sound at the 'Aquaholic'.

This home accommodates 16 (max. of 14 adults). Your quote will include "Additional Guest Fees" if you have between 14 and 16 guests. This fee offsets our additional costs for bigger groups.

Pool available seasonably (opens around May 1, closes around October 31). Pool heat is available for $100 per nighttime.

About the Area

Located in Salvo, this vacation home is on the waterfront. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Cape Hatteras National Seashore and Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, while Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Historic Site and Museum and Studio 12 are cultural highlights. Traveling with kids? Consider Rodanthe Pier and Ocean Air Sports. Jet skiing, kayaking, and water skiing offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with cycling nearby.

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Hatteras visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. Advice for a great stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
