The top-floor great room is a phenomenal spot for the whole family to eat, relax, and spend time together. Thoughtful upgrades include a new couch and bar stools. The huge TV and ample seating make it a great space for movie nights as well. In the kitchen, you'll find bar seating for three and a table for four; the dining table has seating for eight more. Just outside, you can savor your morning cup of joe on the deck as you take in a memorable sunrise and the relaxing sounds of the crashing waves.
Downstairs has a modest den off one of the bedrooms with a twin daybed/twin trundle underneath where you can admire the gorgeous ocean through the sliding glass doors or from the first-level deck.

Tips to get the very best rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer is high season in Frisco. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Hatteras vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Hatteras visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to select the perfect vacation rental in the Hatteras area:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Oceanfront home with 2-tier deck, beach access & sunrise views - 2 dogs welcome has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If they are not listed, call the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
