Lovingly reimagined by new owners, guests will discover a luxuriously serene sanctuary where the simple joy of letting go is anticipated and savored. It begins the moment you arrive and settle your things into one of the home’s six bedrooms. Three are on the ground level: a king and a bedroom with two pyramid bunk beds have their own private baths; a bedroom with two single beds is near a full hall bath. The mid-level of the home features three king master bedrooms, each with a private bath and one with access to a private deck. All the bedrooms have been refreshed with new paint, new bedspreads, artwork, ceiling fans, and Intelligent TVs. Revel in the impressive coastal vistas revealed from floor-to-ceiling picture windows and a deck that extends off the great room on the top level. Featuring a 14-foot vaulted ceiling, the newly furnished great room is ideal for family camaraderie and conversation. After dinner, retire to the theater room for movie nighttime, the game room for some competitive entertainment with the new shuffleboard, 55” Intelligent TV, and 60 game stand up arcade machine (no quarters required) or on one of the home’s multi-level decks to star gaze while the waves roll gently onto the shore. The game room features a wet bar, ice maker, and microwave for those late nighttime cravings. Strategies to get the best Hatteras vacation home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Reserve your Hatteras vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Hatteras visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Filter your rental search:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Premier Oceanfront Dog Friendly Home w\/ Pool, Hot Tub, Theater, Sound Boardwalk has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If not, email or call the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is suitable for your trip.
- If there's an individual Hatteras attraction you love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
