Tips to get the perfect Hatteras vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Hatteras area. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Hatteras area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hatteras area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hatteras visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
