In addition to having the beach as your backyard, this pet-friendly home includes a awesome outdoor recreation space that can double as a dog run for your furry friends. From there, you'll have effortless access to the beach where you can spend the day swimming, surfing, fishing or shelling - the possibilities for around-the-clock oceanfront fun are countless. Back at the home, the open-concept layout in the great room accepts everybody to admire the unobstructed ocean vistas. Upgrades include vaulted ceilings, a comfortable gas fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase the view. French doors lead to a rec room located right off the main living area, furnished with a pool table for some friendly competition and indoor entertainment. The chef in your group will appreciate the well-equipped kitchen with island for plenty of prep space. Pretty wood floors flow throughout the top level, including the primary bedroom. This ocean-facing getaway includes a delightfully refreshed bath where you can pamper yourself with a spa-like experience.

The mid-level consists of four more bedrooms, two of which are ensuite making Ocean Crest the ideal choice for multiple or extended families. All four bedrooms on this level offer an ocean view along with deck access, so you can wake up to the sunrise and fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves. Downstairs, you'll find the sixth bedroom, a full bath and an additional full-sized refrigerator for storing additional groceries or the catch of the day. Located at the east end of Shore Drive, Ocean Crest offers a central location where you'll be just mins. from the very best Rodanthe has to offer. This cozy coastal village is the ideal setting for a laid back, slower-paced vacation while still having amenities and dining options close by. If you need a break from the beach, take a trip back in time at the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Museum. Reel in the catch of the day from the Hatteras Island Fishing Pier, or savor the other side of the island with a variety of watersport activities in the Pamlico Sound.

Please note that the daily effects of winds, waves, tides and storms have contributed to coastal erosion impacts at Cape Hatteras National Seashore, particularly adjacent to the villages of Rodanthe and Buxton. The effects of erosion in these towns result in dynamic and unpredictable changes to the dune line, which may unexpectedly affect beach access. Guests may need to utilize alternate beach access points during their stay.

When to reserve a Hatteras rental home & When to go:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking your Hatteras vacation home in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance.
