Wake up to the excitement of Morning Star! Shining brightly on the oceanfront horizon, this 3000-square foot architect-designed five-bedroom, four-bath home is guaranteed to make any vacation a success. The ground level has ample parking, carports, and an under-home entry. The first living level has cavernous bedrooms, a laundry area, a TV room, a well-supplied library, and comfortable fresh furnishings. The second living level great room will impress the most jaded visitors with some of the best vistas and certainly Avon's best accommodations. The enormous, well-equipped full kitchen has a breakfast bar and full-size appliances (including a dishwasher). The tall cathedral ceiling and warm wood accents work ideally framing in every ocean to sound view. Wide wraparound decks include an oceanfront bubbly hot tub, ideally ready for sun worshippers. The main bedroom upstairs features a jetted tub in the en suite bathroom and an oceanfront deck on the beach. Morning Star - this is living!

Things to Know
The fireplace is available October through April.
The private pool is open seasonally from April through mid-October. Dates are subject to change.
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your e-mail. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.

About the Area

Located in Avon, this vacation home is on the beach. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Hatteras Island Boardsports and Surf's Up are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the largest rental for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.

  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a specific Hatteras attraction you love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
