Second Star to the Right #145HC

Our calendar is refreshed in real-time & our nightly prices are accurately displayed. Simply enter your desired dates and click 'Book Now!'

Lucky are the few who will get to stay in gorgeous sound front, Second Star to the Right. This home has enticed visitors and neighbors for years with its ideal waterfront cul de sac location. It was, however, always an exclusive private home - a Neverland to renters - until now. The ground level has an outdoor shower, fish station, boat dock with seating, hammock, and a rare private boat ramp. Kayak, stand up surf, windsurf, or fish off your private dock. The sizable first living level opens into a panorama of windows that catch some of the island's best sunsets. Cozy resort furnishings offers the ideal perch to view the entertainment center with a huge flatscreen TV/DVD and listen to the stereo. A huge modern kitchen with a humongous granite breakfast bar and stainless appliances will bring out the best in all recipes and their cooks. An additional-sizable waterfront dining area has postcard vistas. Second Star to the Right has a landing-field-size furnished sundeck. The first-floor bedroom has waterfront deck access, and the neighboring full bathroom features a enormous soaking tub and a premium shower stall.

The huge second-level great room with tall ceilings has a wet bar, comfortable resort furnishings, Romeo sundeck, flatscreen TV/DVD, and an extraordinary view of the water, wetlands, and sunsets. Both upstairs bedrooms have water vistas. The kids won't take long to find the upstairs furnished loft area - accessible by a constructed-in ladder. A large hall bathroom with a tub and separate shower is convenient for all. Second Star to the Right also has a full laundry room on this level.

Lost boys, girls, and adults will find the vacation home they have always dreamed of at sound front Second Star to the Right.

Getting the best vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Hatteras area. To get the best rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Hatteras visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose the perfect rental:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Dog-Friendly Waterfront House w\/ Shared Pool, Private Boat Dock, & Washer\/Dryer has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
