You'll find the Community Center ideal for calming with friends, conducting meetings, wedding events and receptions, or simply appreciating the lounge areas, which offer a huge-screen 50-inch plasma TV, and a complete kitchen on the upper level. All getaways are attractively furnished and entirely equipped with linens to make your stay comfortable as well as memorable. All Durant Station condos have central A/C, cable TV with HBO, satellite HDTV with DVR, wireless high-speed Internet for your laptop, solid surface counters in the kitchen, and sprinkler safety systems for your tranquility of mind.

Centrally located on the first floor is a coin-operated laundry facility (which even offers an ocean view). A sizable separate fish cleaning station, BBQ grilles and outdoor shower facilities complete the picture. The Durant Station Condominiums are located in Hatteras Village, oceanfront on Highway 12. How to get the best Hatteras vacation property experience:

Getting the best value:

  • The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Hatteras. Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hatteras vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and pick the bestrental home:

  • To start, have your family decide on a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. 2nd-floor oceanfront condo with outdoor pool, hot tub, private waterfront balcony has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

Have a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
