Wind Top Unit #306 is a third-floor suite that is elegantly decorated and offers a flatscreen TV in both the living room and bedroom along with a DVD player and a stereo/CD player. The Durant Station Condominiums offer spectacular ocean vistas from every property. The suite offers a private oceanfront deck, as well as a sound-side deck for viewing colorful sunsets. Elevator service to all levels makes Durant Station a most convenient choice for all ages: no need to haul bags and groceries up long flights of stairs! Guests are just a few short steps to the ocean via a private wooden walkway. The Hatteras area offers some of the best fishing and sunbathing on the East Coast.

At Durant Station you'll appreciate a host of amenities including one of Hatteras Island's biggest private pools with an adjacent hot tub available April 1 to January 2. The Durant Station Community Center is crowned by the original historic Durant Lifesaving Station tower, a rich piece of Hatteras Island's past. You'll find the Community Center ideal for calming with friends, conducting meetings, wedding events and receptions, or simply appreciating the lounge areas, which offer a huge-screen 50-inch plasma TV, and a complete kitchen on the upper level. The Durant Station complex consists of three floors, which start about 12 feet above the ground.

This unit has been charmingly furnished (there are new beds on every bed!) and entirely equipped with central air-conditioning, cable TV with steaming, Satellite HDTV with a DVR, high-speed WiFi for your devices, and solid surface counters in the kitchen. Centrally located on the first floor is a coin-operated laundry facility with an ocean view. A sizable separate fish-cleaning station, BBQ grilles, and outdoor shower facilities complete the picture. The Durant Station Condominiums are located in Hatteras Village, oceanfront on Highway 12. Savor being beachfront and near local eateries and stores.

This home has access to a community pool, the community pools in our area are typically open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Community pools are operated at the discretion of the community HOA so the availability schedule may be subject to change without notice.

Sticking to your spending budget:

• Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
• To find the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
• Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
• Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
• Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
• Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective.
